Our condolences to Rabbi Schwalb, Joanne and family on the loss of their granddaughter.  We wish them strength, peace and comfort in the days ahead.

Our parsonage building is getting a new facelift, both inside and out.  We are now able to provide housing for our new caretaker, Adrienne, and will eventually be able to use the upper floors as living space.

Please welcome Adrienne, who became our caretaker over the summer.  We are very pleased to have her join us.

The board approved a change in schedule for Shabbat services.  We will have one Friday evening service/pot luck on the first Friday of each month, and the rest of the month will have Sat. morning services.  These will all be “Lunch and Learns.”

We are getting ready for the High Holidays and are pleased to announce that Jill Liflander and Beth Whipple will be providing children’s services this year.  We will also offer babysitting for children from 11:00-12:30.  Parents are asked to pre-register for this service so that we know how many babysitters are needed.

We plan to have the lift installed and the building cleaned in time for the High Holidays.


We are holding our own with membership, but hope to add some new families in the coming year.


Our Hebrew School is doing well with the new curriculum.  Students who require help learning to read Hebrew are receiving individual instruction, when needed.

On April 13, we will be hosting an evening of Israeli dancing.  Everyone is invited to learn some new dances.  We will have dancing teachers to show us the way, and lots of music, as well as some tasty treats.

We had a great time at the Chanukah dinner, with a large turnout.  Thanks to all who contributed delicious and tasty treats including some wonderful latkes!


A new gutter system will be installed to keep our building dry.  We are also replacing our lift to make the building more accessible.

Rabbi Schwalb brought back some new melodies from Israel, which will complement those we use at services. 

We are looking for a new Ritual committee chairperson.  Alan Most will be stepping down and we thank him for all of his efforts over the years to keep things running smoothly!  Alan has been a “go to” person whenever there is a question or need for help.

 Our membership is currently 89 families.  We welcome the 6 new families who joined us this year.   

The Dec. 3 Wine and Cheese event was well attended, and lots of fun.  We received generous donations, which covered all expenses and provided something extra for building repairs or other needs.
