Hebrew Congregation of Somers
 
Northern Westchester's Reconstructionist Synagogue and Temple, located in Somers. We welcome interfaith families from Westchester and Putnam and provide progressive Hebrew and religious school education for children and adults. Our members have varied backgrounds from the Reconstructionist, Reform,  Conservative, Orthodox, Cultural and non-affiliated branches of Judaism.

Rabbi Fred Schwalb is a graduate of the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College. Click here for  more information on Rabbi Schwalb.

Religious School Director Tal Hadani-Pease is an alumnus of the Ramaz School.  She is a graduate of SUNY Purchase, where she majored in fine arts and minored in Jewish Studies, with a focus on Hebrew literature.  She was previously a Hebrew school teacher for the Hebrew Congregation of Somers.  Her interests include all art forms, including photography, quilt making, knitting, bookbinding, printmaking, Native American crafts, macrame, ceramics and silkscreen.  She resides in Sherman, Connecticut with her husband and daughters.

Ruth Ossher is our cantorial soloist for the High Holidays.
