HCS High Holiday Schedule of Services 5772/2011

Shanah Tovah!

This year the Congregation is offering dues free membership (which includes High Holiday tickets) for the first year to local unaffiliated families who have not attended High Holiday services at HCS before.
If you would like to become members, please contact us for information and reservations.

Members of the ritual committee will be in touch to see if and how you would like to participate in this year's High Holiday services.  We create opportunities for everyone to do something, whether it is reading a Torah portion or Haftarah; reading blessings in Hebrew or a prayer in English; or something nonverbal (such as opening the ark, carrying the Torah, or dressing the Torah).

HCS is thrilled to have Ruth Ossher join us again as cantorial soloist for the high holidays. Ruth and her family are long time residents of South Salem, and have been active members of their local shul, Jewish Family Congregation.  Ruth has studied with cantor Jeff Schiovitz of Congregation Sons of Israel.

HCS is very excited to have Jill Liflander join us again to lead the children's services on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.  Many of you know Jill as an energetic and creative teacher in our Hebrew school. Jill brought this creativity and love of tradition to last year's services, making them fun and memorable to all who came.
