High Holidays

High HolidaysHCS offers dues free membership (which includes High Holiday tickets) for the first year to local unaffiliated families who have not attended High Holiday services at HCS before.
If you would like to attend High Holiday Services, please write us at info@hebrewcongregationofsomers.org or call (914) 248-9532 for information and reservations.

HCS is thrilled to have Ruth Ossher join us again as cantorial soloist for the high holidays.  Ruth has studied with cantor Jeff Schiovitz of Congregation Sons of Israel.

Participation

Members of the ritual committee will be in touch to see if and how you would like to participate in this year's High Holiday services, whether it is reading a Torah portion or Haftarah; reading blessings in Hebrew or a prayer in English; or something nonverbal (such as opening the ark, carrying the Torah, or dressing the Torah).

For children

HCS is very excited to have Rachel Izes join us to lead the children's services on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. Rachel brings song, creativity and love of tradition to our youth services.
