A Message from the President

Dear Congregation,

Our High Holidays are now behind us.  I would like to thank Rabbi Fred Schwalb and Cantorial Soloist Ruth Ossher for leading such an inspirational High Holiday service.  I would like to also thank everyone who worked so hard to make the High Holiday services and activities run so smoothly.  There are many more exciting activities in the coming months.

On Friday, November 4th is our monthly dairy POT LUCK dinner and family service.  New to the calendar, on December 16th, the sisterhood is putting together a MEAT POT LUCK Chanukah Dinner.  They will be providing the main dishes and ask that the congregation bring NON-DAIRY side dishes and fruit.  They will also be hosting the very first Latke Smackdown.  Who will take home the bragging rights for best latkah in the congregation?  Please join us for these fun, relaxed dinners.  It is a great way to start your weekend and spend time with family and friends.

Hebrew School is in full swing.  Our children are learning about Judaism and Israel with our new textbooks with CDs.  Please check with our principal, Tal Hadani-Pease if you have any questions.

Adult Education is my favorite part of Sunday morning.  At 10:30 every Sunday Rabbi Fred retells the history of the Jews from his perspective.  Rabbi Fred also brings back the news from Israel, which is always fascinating.

Always check our website for upcoming events and check your email for HCS HAPPENINGS for your weekly reminders.  You will see we have a lot going on.

 See you at services,

 Mary Wolchan
